Artist Nguyen Phan Bach always tries to express his thoughts with his brush. “When I was a child, my father used to tell me stories in a very special way, that was while telling and drawing characters on the wall for me to understand easily. I liked to draw since I was a child until I was conscious, and I chose to draw. I choose painting as a way to express my thoughts.” Artist Nguyen Phan Bach shared. As the eldest son of the legendary Vietnamese writer Nguyen Huy Thiep, Bach inherited a profound literary depth, yet masterfully forged his own sovereign visual empire. He possesses a rare mastery of 3D spatial volumes, carving deep emotions onto oil canvases rather than just layering colors. Today, working from the Nguyen Huy Thiep Cultural Space in Hanoi, he creates powerful psychological dialogues on identity through highly acclaimed series like “Vô Diện” (Faceless) and “Unknown Faces”.
