Also at the annual event, children from city orphanages collaborated on a 140m-long painting themed Thanh Pho Van Minh – Dat Nuoc Giau Manh (A Civilised City – A Prosperous Country) on canvas.

The giant work will be displayed at Chi Lang Park this week. A new aspect of this year’s competition was the participation of fine arts teachers from HCM City and Binh Duong Province.

Titled Net Ve Xanh (The Green Stroke) and organised by the Departments of Education and Training and Culture and Information and the city’s War Remnants Museum and the General Science Library, the contest was held in Tao Dan Cultural Park.

The results of the competition will be announced next June. — VNS
