Fine Arts Exhibition Opens In HCM City

A Fine Arts Exhibition opened on August 8 to mark the August Revolution of 1945 and National Day, in Ho Chi Minh City.

The exhibition presents to viewers 109 paintings in oils, lacquer, silk and sculptures on a variety of subjects by 91 artists of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association.

Selected pictures are the latest artworks created on trips across the country from August 2012 to August 2013.

This year’s submissions focus on environmental protection and nature conservation, beautiful landscapes, Vietnamese people’s daily activities, traditional culture, and soldiers who are protecting the country’s sea and islands.

The exhibits include A-Prize winning work titled ‘Tich Tu Cua Bien’ by Lam Thanh; B-Prize winning sculpture and lacquer titled ‘Phon Thuc 1’ by Nguyen Thanh Cong and ‘Am Thanh Mam Song’ by Luong Khanh Toan.

C-Prizes went to bronze, lacquer and sculpture artworks by Hoang Tuong Minh, Mai Anh Dung and Le Xuan Chien.

The event will run until August 16 at the HCMC Fine Arts Museum.
