Opening ceremony is held at 17:30 on Saturday, 14th December 2013 at Nguyen Art Gallery, 31 Van Mieu street, Hanoi.
Exhibition runs until 23th / December/ 2013
Introduction
Một cách nhìn lạ, chao chát mà đầy thách thức. Sự diễu cợt kín đáo mà gây sốc đối với đám đông thị dân của xã hội đô thị hóa đương thời. Chuyện đời, chuyện người trong hội họa của Lương Trung chỉ là những đứa trẻ bé đẩy nghệ thuật ra hè phố bến xe, lấy thực tại nhốn nháo thường ngày làm không gian đồng hiện cho những tiểu cảnh bi hài, cười ra nước mắt rồi va đập vào bất cứ ai.
Pop việt đương đại đang đối diện với thói kệch cỡm, trưởng giả, sự cách biệt giàu nghèo, nạn ô nhiễm môi trường, sự tụt dốc của văn hóa cộng đồng, cơn lốc đô thị hóa nông thôn và những trung cư vô danh tính trong cuộc chen lấn xô bồ của thị trường…Hiện thực khắc nghiệt ấy ám ảnh tâm hồn lành sạch và ngọn bút quyết đoán, liền mạch, đầy hưng phấn của Lương trung.
Thân lập thân, thế hệ 8x của anh đang tự trưởng thành và đương nhiên, như một cơ duyên họ bước nhanh trong thập kỉ bản lề của nền mỹ thuật đương đại Việt Nam
This is a new vision, bitter with a lot of challenges, a hidden tease. It really shocks the citizens of today’s urbanized society. Life stories, human stories in the paintings of Luong Trung are just the kids pushing art to sidewalks, bus stations …It takes the realities of the daily chaos to make space for art to express the funny and tragic to make us laugh until we cry, which can touch any one’s mind
Vietnam’s contemporary pop art is seeing the funny, the ludicrous, the snobbish, the gap between the rich and the poor, the pollution of the environment, the decay of community culture and the tornado of urbanization and apartment buildings, the jostle and changes of the market economy …Those rough realities haunt the purified soul and determined brush of Luong Trung.
Finding a way by themselves, his 8x generation is maturing and, obviously taking a chance, they step fast into the changing decade of Vietnamese contemporary art

Introduction by Luong Trung
Là người đang sống trong một xã hội hiện đại ,trong giai đoạn đất nước đang chuyển mình với những sinh hoạt diễn ra nổi bật hàng ngày trên vỉa hè,ngõ ,ngách, góc phố , bến xe buýt… tất cả phản ánh thực trạng của xã hội đương thời và tôi hiện đang ngụ tại một khu chung cư “ Giãn Dân”chứng kiến từng đợt tái định cư sát nhập với những văn hóa khác nhau và họ đang cố cá nhân hóa quan điểm sống một cách cực đoan , nghiễm nhiên nó khởi nguồn cho những mâu thuẫn nảy sinh trong sinh hoạt cộng đồng . Sự phân cấp trong sinh hoạt đối xử bên ngoài và trong khu dân cư “ Mới“ đã làm nên cảm hứng cho dự án nghệ thuật của tôi . Tôi thể hiện các nhân vật với những nét châm biếm đặc trưng hóm hỉnh hài hước đến lố bịch trong tranh để cá nhân hóa một cuộc sống điển hình của bất kì người Việt Nam nào trong xã hội hiện tại.
We are living in a modern society in a developing country; during a period when the country is making a great movement forward. We can see that in the daily life of people on the sidewalks, in the alleys, lanes, on the street corners …and in the bus stations. These activities reflect reality of contemporary society.
I myself now live in an apartment building in an area so called “Relocated housing”, I see people moving to their new re-settlement accommodations, trying hard to adapt with to a new culture in new living places in a pessimistic way. They try to live extremely personal lives, and they have to face the contradictions rising in community activities. There are different problems when people bring their family members to their new homes, to their new neighborhoods in their new living places and moreover in our new society.
And since moving into this new apartment house, I get new inspirations for my artwork. In my paintings, I ironically express the people with funny & ridiculous character; those could be personalizations of someone who is living in current Vietnam society.
