The Journey into Art
Do Van Hiep used to be an Art teacher at Vietnam Fine Arts Association. He specializes in painting with oil, acrylic, and mixed media, creatively blending traditional lacquer elements, gold leaf, and mother-of-pearl. His artworks have been collected by prominent national galleries, private art institutions, as well as a lot of individual collectors all over the world.Most of his artworks are defined by a deeply contemporary, figurative style that explores personal psychology, inner monologues, and dreamlike narratives. His paintings are varied and illusory, seamlessly marrying modern graphic sensibilities with motifs inspired by Vietnamese folklore. At first glance, viewers are captivated by the bold forms and rich textures, but when looking closely, each painting reveals a “symphony” of intricate materials and hidden emotions that avoid standard, mainstream paths.

Education: Graduated with a Bachelor’s (2007) and a Master of Fine Arts from the Vietnam University of Fine Arts (2012)
