Most of his Vietnamese artworks with the theme of historic monuments are painted directly from his personal nostalgia and studies of ancient patterns. His lacquer paintings of heritage architectural sites are varied and deeply layered. His palette is mainly rich traditional lacquer tones blended with vibrant transitional colors of autumn.
